Copenhagen Climathon on Live Earth Day the 18th of June

We’re hosting the Copenhagen Climathon 2015, and we invite everyone interested in finding new ways of using technologies and data to support a more climate-friendly behaviour in cities!

The Climathon is a 24-hour hacking event where people come together to address climate change. The event will take place simultaneously in major cities around the world during Live Earth on the 18th of June 2015.

The event is organised with Climate-KIC.

This is the challenge you are going to work on during the Copenhagen Climathon event:
Which services can support a more efficient and climate friendly behaviour of citizens, and which data should cities gather and display accordingly?

The smart cities of the future will support climate friendly behaviour by providing citizens with services and data on their behaviour and consequences. Our Climathon will aim for sustainable business ideas, technical solutions, and other insights about the overall topic of mobility and how to increase the flow in the city.

Lykke Friis, former Climate Minister, will give a keynote speech about the climate change challenge and Cisco and Hitachi will be part of the panel, to judge the final solutions.

The event will be open to everyone who is interested from citizens over students to experts. The winner will get the opportunity to work with us, Københavns Kommune and Climate-KIC for six months and the results will be presented at COP 21 in Paris in December this year.

All participants will be provided with a detailed programme of the Climathon.

And don’t worry about missing out on the elections – we will arrange for live-streaming so everyone can stay informed!

We hope to see you!
